The Coachella Valley problem, plainly

For years, solar in the desert largely meant one name: Renova Energy of Palm Desert. Then SunPower — whose systems Renova sold as a Master Dealer — collapsed in 2024, Renova halted and limped and finally filed Chapter 7 in March 2026, and thousands of Riverside County systems ended up with no installer of record. Desert systems cannot wait on that question. Heat is brutal on inverters, monitoring that was registered under a dead company's account goes silent without warning, and an array quietly dropping a string in June is an expensive thing to discover in December's electric bill.
